Beautiful and Classic DIY Bridal Shower Decorations

For my wedding blog post series I wanted to include a post about my bridal shower! I thought it would be helpful to share my bridal shower decorations for anyone who is planning a bridal shower to get any ideas or inspiration. Most of my bridal shower was DIY and all the decorations we bought were super affordable. My mom and my sister did such an amazing job with planning everything. All of these items make great homemade bridal shower ideas. I will be sharing all the details on my beautiful and classic DIY bridal shower decorations.

Bridal Shower Venue

My family is from Portugal so I definitely wanted my bridal shower at a Portuguese restaurant. A buffet of Portuguese food is soooooo good! We had it at Valenca’s Restaurant in Elizabeth, NJ. My family has been going there for years so I always knew I wanted to celebrate my bridal shower there.

My bridal shower was on September 20th. Since it was during Covid, it was a little stressful leading up to the event. We didn’t know if we were going to be able to have it since at the time indoor dining wasn’t allowed. We were lucky and grateful when the restaurant got a tent and we were able to have the bridal shower outdoors.

Bridal Shower Dress

I absolutely loved my bridal shower dress! Pink is my favorite color so I loved that it was a white dress with pink flowers. I also loved that the dress was backless! I was excited to see that my dress is back in stock and you can find it at Lulus. Here is the link to my dress!

Bridal Shower Table Decorations

My mom is the DIY queen and she is so talented with arts and crafts. For our DIY centerpieces for the bridal shower, my mom made bride dresses! Each table had a unique bride dress. She bought this vase from Dollar Tree and covered it with tulle and fabric. She glued every single sequins, flower, and pearl on the dress. She worked so hard on creating them and they all came out so cute!

We also covered the table with silk white rose petals that we got from Amazon. Each table also had a hand sanitizer with a cute sign that my mom and sister created that said “Spread Love, Not Germs.” You can also find them as stickers and tags on Etsy like this one!

For each plate setting, we placed three games and a cute flower pen for each guest. My sister typed up and printed the games. My mom created the flower pens. The games we played were Bride or Groom Guess Who, Scattegories, and Bingo. You can purchase the templates on Etsy and Amazon, but you can also just type them up yourself and add cute little images to decorate the page. My mom created the flower pens by buying fake flowers from Dollar tree and wrapping the pen with green tape. They come out so cute!

Cake Table Decorations

For the cake table, my parents created a backdrop so we can use as a photo background. They made it all themselves! My dad got PVC pipes as the structure for the backdrop. My mom bought white curtains and white beads to hang over it. She was also super creative and made these cute flowers out of tissue paper to hang on top of the backdrop! In the middle of the backdrop, we hung up a “Soon to be Mrs. Watkins” sign. You can find this sign from Etsy! The backdrop came out so great and I couldn’t believe they made it themselves!

On top of the cake table, we had the cake (obviously lol) and a few other activities for the guests. One was the “Ring Game” – everyone got a gold engagement ring (we bought this pack on Amazon) and anyone who said “bride” or “wedding” – someone can steal their ring. The person with the most rings at the end of the event wins! A second activity we had was “Date Night Ideas.” I got a wish jar (I used this for my wedding too!) and each guest had to write a date idea for me and Carl and put it in the jar. For our wedding, the guests had to write a message for us to read on our anniversary. I love that this jar came with different signs that we can use. And the last activity we had was a jug filled with Hershey Kisses and each person had to guess how many kisses were in the jug. Also – for the cake – we ordered it from BJs and we got the “Bride to Be” cake topper from Etsy!

Guest Favors

For guest favors, we bought little succulents! We got a pack of 20 from Walmart! My mom wrapped burlap fabric around each one and glued a cute little flower to make it cute! We also added a sign to each one that said “Let Love Grow” and a thank you to coming to my bridal shower. You can find the template we used here! We placed them in rustic wooden crates. All the guests loved them!
