Wearing Pastels in the Fall

Wearing Pastels in the Fall

People always assume that when the weather gets cooler, you have to bring out your darker shades of clothing and put all your pastel colors away. That is not true at all! Even though lighter color pieces are not the typical fall color shades, it doesn’t mean that you have to forget about them. Personally, I love wearing pastel colors like pink, blue, purple all year round. They add a great pop of color to any outfit.

To style a pastel color in the fall and winter months, it is all about pairing it with different materials. During the cooler months, the materials that come to mind are suede, corduroy, leather, velvet, etc. Combining pastel colors with these materials make these colors transition perfectly into the fall.

I paired my cropped lavender sweater with my suede zip-up skirt. I am in love with the color of this sweater. It’s so pretty and the material is so soft and cozy. Perfect for those chilly days. Since it’s a cropped sweater, it goes perfectly with high waisted skirts and pants. I love how this color pops with the black skirt.

So now let’s talk about how awesome these floral booties are. One of the major trends of this season are floral detailed booties. If you know me, you know I am obsessed with anything that has a floral pattern. I’m all about the cute and girly looks – Haha! I loved the silver and gold tones of these boots. It makes the floral detail really stand out! If you love floral, I highly recommend buying a pair of floral boots! I recommend wearing these with a solid color top to avoid having an overwhelming amount of different patterns.

I got this entire outfit from Forever 21. The lavender sweater and the suede skirt were both under $30. Unfortunately, I was not able to find the lavender sweater online. If you are near a Forever 21, they definitely have this still in stock so go check it out. However, I added a similar sweater that was the same color, as well as other different pastel colors that are super cute. And they are around the same price point. I also linked my skirt and other different suede skirt styles below. I was able to find the Velvet Floral Ankle Booties online so I linked them below too! They come in black and beige. They are only $38. I am usually a size 5.5 in shoes, but I was able to fit in a size 6 so you might have to go up half a size.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

With lots of love,
