When I was researching adorable couple costume ideas a few weeks ago, I was so surprised to find the costume my boyfriend and I wore last year featured on Cosmopolitan – 50 Adorably Cheesy Couples Halloween Costumes! How cool is that! I loved the cute DIY costume we came up with last year so I wanted this year’s to be as good.
Last year was the first time we did a DIY costume and now I never want to go back to just buying a generic costume. DIY costumes can be super affordable, more creative, and fun to make! You can also buy items that can be reworn or create a costume from things you already have in your closet.
I decided to dress up as my favorite dessert – cookies! As I was looking up how to make a cookie costume, I came across Studio DIY, which is a creative lifestyle company that shares cute DIY projects. They have so many cute costume ideas and even a shop section so you can get everything in one place. I bought the tan shift dress and chocolate piece stickers from them for only $20. Carl dressed up as a milk man (which is funny because he is lactose intolerant lol). For a milk man costume, all you need is beige or white pants, a white button down shirt, black bow tie, black shoes, and a milk man hat. Except for the hat (unless you want to haha), it’s great that all these items can be worn on a normal day too. Carl had everything in his closet so all we had to order was the milk man hat. I am obsessed with our Halloween costume this year. It came out so cute! I love that we put everyday items together to create a fun and stylish cookie and milk man costume. If we bought an actual milk man and cookie costume, we would have spent over $60 on our costumes that could have only been worn once. It’s great when you can buy a costume that can be worn on a normal day. You get your money’s worth!
