This Wedding Wednesday post is all about bridal party details! I want to share all the details about bridesmaid dresses, suit rentals, and bridal party gifts.
Since we were having a fall wedding, I knew I wanted to choose a pretty fall color for my wedding. For the bridal party, I chose a burgundy/wine color. I also liked the idea of the girls being in different dresses. When I went to the bridal store to look at bridesmaid dresses, I found a designer I liked and picked out all my favorite dress styles. I chose about 10-12 dresses since I wanted to make sure my bridesmaids had a bunch of options to choose from. The designer I chose was Bill Levkoff. I loved many of his styles and they were all under $200. Since my sister was my maid of honor, I wanted her to stand out so she added a belt to her dress for some sparkle! For their hair, I chose an updo style with a side braid.
As a thank you gift to my bridesmaids, I gave them a tote bag with their name on it, stud earrings to wear with their dresses, and a silk robe + slippers to wear in the morning. I also bought them a fur shawl just in case it was cold, but we actually got so lucky with a 76 degree day in November! It did get cold at night though so I loved that we had these. I got the shawl in white and the bridesmaids wore the color “Apricot.” I thought it went great with their burgundy dresses.
It was so much fun hanging out and getting ready in the morning with all my bridesmaids. They helped me ease my nerves and made me feel so special on my wedding day.
One of my favorite moments was when I did a first look with my bridesmaids. When I was dress shopping, I decided to keep my dress a surprise! I don’t really cry in public so I didn’t think I would cry on my wedding day. But doing the first look with my bridesmaids was the only time I got super emotional and cried on my wedding day! I was filled with so many emotions and getting into my dress for the first time with my hair and makeup done – I was just overwhelmed with joy.
Now for the groomsmen! Since Carl’s friends are living in different states, we wanted to pick an online suit rental place that made it easy for everyone to order. We decided to go with Menguin. Their customer service was great and we were able to order five free swatches to make sure the color matched with the bridesmaid dresses. Each groomsmen created an account and entered in their sizing.
For their delivery process, about two weeks before the wedding, the groomsmen receive their suits in the mail and if anything doesn’t fit, Menguin sends them a replacement. You don’t even have to send the item that didn’t fit before getting a new one. You can just send everything back after the event. At first I was nervous because two weeks doesn’t seem like enough time especially if an item doesn’t fit, but they send it right away. All the guys thought the process was so easy!
For thank you gifts, Carl got his groomsmen duffle bags with their initials engraved on them and a bottle of their favorite alcohol.
And because of Covid – we also got our bridal party matching burgundy masks for the wedding.
We also can’t forget about our ring bearer! My little cousin was our ring bearer and he was the absolute cutest! He wore a tux to match Carl and we made him our “ring security.” We got him this ring security kit and I made him a cute little ID badge. He was so excited to be a part of it!
