On super chilly days, it’s easy to forget about fashion because you just want to wear the warmest and biggest sweater you own and throw it on. However, you don’t need to look frumpy to stay warm. This week I wanted to share with you guys two winter layering outfit ideas that keep you warm, while staying cute and stylish.
The first winter layering outfit idea involves a thin and thick layer. First, you choose a thin base layer. This can be a thin long sleeve shirt such as a blouse or basic long sleeve tee. For the next layer, you can pair it with a cardigan or knit sweater. This layering trick adds an additional warmth to your outfit. And the good thing is if you get too hot, you can just take the heaviest layer off. This layering trick is simple and looks well put together.
To show you how to put together this layering outfit idea, I wore my long sleeve polka dot shirt as the thin layer and a fuzzy yellow cardigan as the second layer. I got this polka dot shirt from H&M for under $20. Polka dots are such a fun pattern and I thought this shirt was super cute. I love the ruffle detail on the sleeves. This top goes great with jeans or tucked into a skirt. It’s also a great shirt to wear to work. For an extra layering piece, I wore my Forever 21 fuzzy yellow cardigan. It’s so cozy and warm and only $25! I paired this outfit with my dark skinny jeans from Forever 21.
Even though these slides aren’t a great shoe option for those super cold days, I wanted to share with you guys the awesome deal I found at Sears. I’ve never bought shoes from Sears before, but I got these burgundy slides for only $11! I never thought I would be into slides, but once I saw it for that price, I knew I had to get them to try it out. These are so versatile and comfy and go well with anything!
