As much as I love wearing comfy sweaters, sometimes it’s fun to change up your winter outfit. Another great outfit idea for the winter involves bringing out your dresses. Yes – you heard right! Even though you are in the middle of winter, you can still wear a dress and keep warm. It’s all about how you style and layer it.
A perfect layering piece for a dress is an over-sized cardigan. A cardigan allows you to show off your dress, while still being warm and cozy at the same time. Wearing tights and over-the-knee-boots is also great to wear with dresses in the winter. It keeps your legs warm, while making a fashion statement. An extra tip to keep warm is to wear long socks underneath your over-the-knee boots. Another layering piece you can also wear is a sweater over your dress which makes it look like a cute sweater and skirt combo.
This knit dress is from Urban Outfitters. I bought it in the fall and styled it in a past blog post here. I transitioned it for the winter by wearing my Marc Fischer Ramata Over-The-Knee-Boots and my fuzzy yellow cardigan from Forever 21. This knit dress is perfect for the fall and winter. It comes in two colors – black and rust orange. I got this dress for $54, but now it is now on sale for $30! Such a great deal! My Marc Fischer Ramata boots come in three colors – black, grey, and berry. I absolutely love these boots. They are so comfortable. I literally wear them all the time. You probably remember them in this past blog post.
Since the dress and boots are black, I wanted to add color to this outfit. This yellow fuzzy knit cardigan from Forever 21 was a perfect addition to the outfit. I love that the yellow stands out. This cardigan is only $25 and comes in red and yellow. It is super soft and feels like I’m wearing a blanket. The accessory I paired with this outfit are these hot pink tassel earrings from H&M for only $10. I thought the pink and yellow went really well together and I love how these colors pop with the outfit. I love combining fun colors.
Hope everyone has a great week! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
