How to Transition from Summer to Fall

There is always an awkward moment in September when fall fashion is out, but the weather still feels like summer. I mean, technically, the first day of fall is September 22, but to me, once it’s the end of August, it basically feels like the end of summer. LOL. By the time September rolls around, I’m so excited for fall fashion – cute booties, leather jackets, dark florals, pretty sweaters….the list goes on and on. Even though I don’t like the cold, I’m lucky I live in a place where I get to experience different seasons of clothing. It’s always fun to bring out an entire new wardrobe.

After I go fall shopping, I’m always eager to wear my new clothes. However, I always have to wait like a month for the weather to cool down. So what do you do when you want to wear fall clothes when the weather is still warm? For me, it is all about the colors you wear. When I think of fall, the colors that pop up in my mind are olive green, burgundy, brown, black, mustard, grey. Patterns like dark florals and plaid and materials like corduroy and suede are also perfect for the fall. Wearing these colors and patterns in summer pieces is perfect for this time.

One of my favorite fall transitional pieces is this hunter green jumpsuit that I bought from Love Culture. I purchased this about three years ago so it is no longer in stock 🙁 However, I linked similar pieces below. This jumpsuit is pretty simple so I like to style it up by adding a belt and cute booties. I also wanted to pair it with this lovely sheer duster with crochet detail to give it a bohemian vibe. I think this outfit is so trendy and fun. The colors scream fall, but it keeps you cool for those hot days.

With lots of love,

Dee
