Best Instagram Spots in New York City

Top of the Rock - Instagram Spots of NYC

Even though I’ve been living in New York City over a year now, I still have so much to see. My parents came to visit this weekend and I took that as an opportunity to explore new places we haven’t seen yet. It’s fun to be a tourist in your own city. We also found a lot of cool photo spots. I thought it would be fun to write a post on the best Instagram spots in New York City.

Keep in mind that there are so many places in New York for great photos. Every neighborhood has cool spots. There’s so much to see! The places I’m sharing in this post are the ones we saw throughout the weekend.

Here are the best Instagram spots in New York City:

Top of the Rock

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to visit Top of the Rock. It’s been on my bucket list forever. It’s an observatory deck on top of the Rockefeller Center where you take an elevator up 70 floors and see an amazing view of New York City. You get to see the Empire State Building and Central Park. It’s such an incredible view!

Instagram Tips: Buy your tickets ahead of time. If you get your tickets early, you don’t need to spend time waiting in line. I also recommend getting there right when it opens. The earliest time you can buy a ticket for is 8 am. We got tickets for 9 am and there were a lot of people so the earlier you get there, the better. You definitely have to be really patient in order to get no one in your photos.

The Yumi Kim Mural

Who can resist taking a photo in front of a pretty floral backdrop?! This is the Yumi Kim Mural that is located at the side of the Yumi Kim store. The address is 105 Stanton Street. It’s painted really pretty and they even change the colors every season. It’s funny because in reality this is painted on trash bins, but anything for the gram 😉 (amirght?!)

L’Appartement Sézane

This French clothing store is a store in the heart of Nolita. It is located on 254 Elizabeth Street. This storefront is always beautifully decorated on the outside and makes a great Instagram spot. These are their summer decorations, but my favorite is during the springtime when it’s covered in colorful flowers.

La Esquina / Corner Deli

This is a cool deli that’s located on 106 Kenmare Street. This place serves authentic Mexican food. If you make a reservation, you can check out their “hidden” restaurant downstairs. With the neon lights and colorful soda bottles on display, it makes a cool Instagram spot.

Nomo Soho

This is a boutique hotel located in Soho that also has a bar and restaurant. The address is 9 Crosby Street. It has a beautiful green archway that makes a perfect Instagram spot.

Instagram Tips: This is a pretty popular place for photos to be taken. Sometimes there can even be a line so I would just be patient and mindful of hotel staff and guests walking through.

Pietro Nolita

This is an adorable pink restaurant. It’s a tiny and cute little Italian place, where everything is pink. This is my favorite color so I definitely wanted to take a photo here! It’s much smaller in person and it’s another popular place to take a photo of in New York City. (We passed by this on the weekend, but it was under construction so here is a photo I took of it in the fall).

East Village

East Village is filled with classic brownstone buildings, cute coffee shops, and boutique clothing stores. I also love this little corner on 10th and Stuyvesant Street – it makes a cool Instagram spot.

Flatiron Building

Best Instagram Spots in NYC

The Flatiron Building is an iconic building in New York. It’s cool to see the unusual flat shape of the building. The building is located at the intersection of Broadway and 5th avenue on 23rd street in Midtown Manhattan. Since this area of the city is going to be busy all the time, you have to be creative with your photos and test out different angles of the shot you want to take.

I hope you guys enjoyed these photos! There are way more Instagram spots in New York City so I definitely want to post more. I’m planning on doing a separate post for the Brooklyn Bridge and Central Park so stay tuned!

Also – here are the shoes I wore that day. I absolutely love them. They are super comfortable (even after walking an entire day in New York!).
